Our Curriculum
Spring Grove JIN School Curriculum Rationale
INTENT
Like all schools we want the best for our children; we are outstanding because we identify barriers to learning for every child and take responsibility for attempting to remove them where they exist.
Our intention is to use our curriculum to develop the following:
- Respect for each other.
- Aspirations to be the best we can be.
- Confidence and resilience
- knowledge and skills progressively through engaging, exciting and memorable learning opportunities-all subjects have a detailed written coverage and progression overview aimed at identifying substantive and disciplinary knowledge.
- A life-long love of learning.
IMPLEMENTATION
We meet our statutory obligations by using the NC and the EYFS Framework. We enhance this through the use of RRS.
We teach subjects well by employing specialists and by prioritising high quality CPD for teachers and support staff.
We constantly review, evaluate and improve our subject delivery by consulting others, children and outcomes.
Subject leaders are proactive in identifying the areas for improvement, resources required, CPD needs and best practice through the use of evidence-based strategies –eg EEF guidance reports.
IMPACT
We explicitly develop the children’s cultural capital, such that our children are confident, secure in valuing their own backgrounds and are able to be productive members of wider society.
Our children understand that when they leave our school they will form part of a society in which their role is to be respectful, resilient and confident.
They are well prepared because they understand that regardless of background they have rights and responsibilities
At every key transition point, they are well prepared through careful collaboration with partner schools and providers
Pupil outcomes are consistently high so that pupils have the best possible chance of achieving economic well-being.
